Elections for the 2016-2017 PTCC Leadership will occur in April and May - Step up and nominate yourself to lead as an Officer or a PAC leader. See below for all of the details.
As per the PTCC Policies and Procedures, elections will be held each spring. The election process is outlined in the current Policies and Procedures of the PTCC (Version Oct 2014). Interested in serving as a leader in the PTCC? Read on.
The GLOBE Parent Teacher Community Council (PTCC) is our school's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) that helps support GLOBE's vision.
PTCC Leadership Team (LT):
The Leadership Team (LT) is comprised of: 4 Officers, Parent Action Committee (PAC) co-leads (10), teachers (2) and the Head of School. The role of the LT is to guide the actions of the PTCC. More details of function of the LT are listed in the PTCC Policies and Procedures.
How do I get on the Leadership Team?
Parent/Teacher leadership at GLOBE is designed to grow out of service to the school, so that all leaders are invested and hands-on. There are two ways for parents to become a member of the PTCC Leadership Team at GLOBE.
1. Become an Officer - You may be voted to hold a position of an Officer through a school-wide electoral process. See below for more information on the Officer positions.
2. Become a PAC Leader- You could join a PAC and serve as a PAC leader. See below for more information on the PAC Lead positions.
What are the 4 Officer Positions?
The PTCC Officers are responsible for coordinating the activities of the PTCC. The Officer positions are as follows:
Co-Chairs (2 People)
Secretary (1 Person)
Treasurer (1 Person) - This role will be appointed by the GLOBE 501(C)3 Compliance Board (formally appointed by GLOBE Foundation).
Officer Election Process:
- 1 Secretary - 1 Year
Those elected to these two positions will serve alongside Rachel May who is currently finishing her first year in her 2-year Co-Chair position and Shawn Madgett who is currently finishing her first year in her 2-year Treasurer position.
If you are interested in running for a Co-chair or Secretary position for the PTCC, please provide your name, position of interest and a summary (not to exceed 500 words) on why you would like to hold an officer position to Head of School Ms. Christi Elliott - Earby @ [email protected] and Co Chair Anita Patel @ [email protected]. Please detail your past experience at GLOBE or other school leadership positions. Deadline for nominations (including self nominations) is May 6th, 2016. School wide elections for the 2 Officer positions will be held via email on May 10th, 2016 (DATE UPDATED).
Candidates will be evaluated based on why they are interested, prior parent involvement/volunteer experience (community, other schools, at GLOBE), and understanding of the charter.

PACs
Parents may plug into the PTCC through Parent Action Committees (PACs) . There are 5 PACs:
Each PAC has up to 2 PAC Leaders who are identified and voted on by the members of that PAC. The PAC leads would normally serve for 2 year terms, staggered.
PAC Leader description is defined as follows: PAC Leaders are responsible for overseeing each Work Group in the PAC. They are encouraged to delegate leadership of PAC Work Groups amongst PAC members, and shall always be aware and involved in the activities of, and in regular communication with, the Work Groups to effectively communicate the goals, processes, status and needs of the Work Group and the PAC, as appropriate. (Version Oct 2014).
PAC Leader Elections:
If you are interested in leading a PAC please contact the point of contact listed below by May 13th, 2016. Each PAC currently has 1-2 open positions. If more people are interested in leading a PAC than positions available, that PAC Lead position will go to a school-wide vote via email on May 16th, 2016.

What are the 4 Officer Positions?

Co-Chairs (2 People)
- Ensure that the LT's deliberations and decisions reflect GLOBE's CREST, vision, mission, and beliefs/values/principles.
- Serve as a resource for the Head of School, in an advisory capacity.
- Help guide and execute the strategic vision of the PTCC
- Schedule PTCC meetings in conjunction with the Head of School.
- Establish the agenda for the PTCC meetings in conjunction with the Head of School.
- Conduct PTCC meetings and schedule general information meetings.
- Serve as a point of contact between the appropriate Leadership Team members, the Head of School, the Governing Board and the Foundation.
- Make final decisions on issues of parliamentary procedures and governance at meetings.
- Plan and conduct LT and PTCC meetings.
- Ensure that the LT Code of Conduct is followed.
- TERM: Co-Chair terms are 2 years and are staggered between the two individuals who serve.
Secretary (1 Person)
- Handle official correspondence on behalf of the LT and the PTCC.
- Keep records of the LT and PTCC actions, including overseeing the taking of minutes at all LT meetings, sending LT and PTCC meeting announcements, distributing copies of the minutes and the agenda to each LT member, and assuring that appropriate LT and PTCC records are maintained.
- Keep complete and accurate records of PAC assignments and schedules.
- Maintain the files of the LT and PTCC.
- Coordinate the posting of PTCC meeting minutes to the PTCC website.
- TERM: Secretary term is 1 year.
Treasurer (1 Person) - This role will be appointed by the GLOBE 501(C)3 Compliance Board (formally appointed by GLOBE Foundation).
- Be the primary point of contact with the Foundation.
- Ensure the safekeeping of the assets of the PTCC.
- Provide reports regarding the financial affairs of the PTCC.
- Assist in the preparation of the PTCC budget.
- Assist as necessary in developing PTCC fundraising plans.
- Make financial information about the PTCC available to the PTCC, as appropriate
- TERM: Treasurer term is 2 years.
Officer Election Process:
- Voting for officer positions will be online
- Ballots will be sent out electronically by the Head of School to provide each person an opportunity to vote
- For Spring 2016 elections, the following Officer positions will be voted on by the entire GLOBE community (parents, teachers, staff) in April as part of PTCC election process and will serve terms as follows:

- Global Awareness PAC: Looking for 2 PAC leads; 1 for a 1-year term, 1 for a 2-year term. Will receive support and orientation from the Leadership Team. Contact Kim Rosero if you are interested.
